PICS, Inc. carries Galil Automated Motion Control products, offering full-featured, easy-to-use and cost-effective motion controllers that work with both step motor and servo motor systems.  DC powered servo amps can be supplied with some of the controllers for an extremely cost-effective package. The technology has been applied to develop a small, pocket-sized PLC, the RIO.  The programming language consists of simple alpha-numeric commands.  Galil Motion Control solves applications requiring point-to-point positioning, position tracking, jogging, linear and circular interpolation, contouring, electronic gearing, and ECAM.

Accelera Controllers & Drives

DMC-40x0

This device is Galil’s highest performance, stand alone controller. The motion controller belongs to the latest generation motion
controller family: the Accelera Series.  The Accelera series is above all its predecessors in all accounts of update rates and commands.

• Completely user configurable for stepper or servo motors on any combination of axes
• Sinusoidal commutation is configurable
• Up to 22MHz encoder frequencies for servos
• Up to 6MHz output pulses for steppers
• Non-volatile memory for programs, arrays, and variables

DMC-18x6

This is one of Galil’s highest performance, the PCI bus motion controller. Just like the DMC-40x0, it belongs to the same family: the Accelera Series. The Accelera series is a competitive motion controller that functions much better than all of its predecessors.

• Up to 22MHz encoder frequencies for servos
• Up to 6MHz output pulses for steppers
• The command processing is as low as 31 microseconds per axis
• Up to eight programs can be run through multitasking option

DMC-41x3 Econo Series

This controller offers more than the model just below it to fit applications that require a higher performing motion controller.

DMC-18x2 Econo Series

The DMC-18x2 series is designed for applications that are cost sensitive. It is able to accommodate 1- through 4-axis formats and allows control of step or servo motors on any combination of axes.

DMC-300xx Pocket Motion Controller Series

The newest 32-bit RISC processor runs at a higher speed than older models. It is available in two different models: the box model and the card model.

Pocket PLC

This is a very efficient device that is cost effective and fitted into a compact housing. The RIO has a processor that can handle I/O logic and is programmed using Galil’s intuitive command language or using Galil’s ladder interface software.
